Eurovision winners Maneskin: Italian rock band wins with Zitti E Buoni

Måneskin won the Eurovision Song Contest

Italian rock band wins with Zitti E Buoni.

Italy narrowly pipped a handful of rivals to win a colorful and kitsch Eurovision Song Contest in the early hours of Sunday, with glam rockers Maneskin taking the title with their song ‘Zitti E Buoni’.

The band, whose name means ‘Moonlight’ in Danish, saw off competition from France, Switzerland and Malta to win the competition, which was held in Rotterdam after being canceled last year due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Måneskin’s victory marks the first time that Italy has won the Eurovision Song Contest since 1990, when Toto Cutugno triumphed with ‘Insieme: 1992’.

Måneskin’s lead singer Damiano David said, "We just want to say to all the kids out there who feel different, who feel they don't belong: you are not alone. "We are with you, and we love you."
