Highway 401 Crash Kills One, Injures Two in Cobourg
Tragic Accident Shuts Down Eastbound Lanes
Emergency Services Respond to Fatal Crash
On July 28, 2022, at approximately 1:30 pm, a Jeep towing a travel trailer crashed on Highway 401 in Cobourg. Emergency services, including Cobourg and Hamilton Township Fire Services, immediately responded to the scene.
Tragically, one person lost their life in the crash, while two others sustained injuries. The eastbound lanes of Highway 401 were closed during the investigation and cleanup process.
Traffic has since returned to normal on Highway 401 between Port Hope and Cobourg following the crash. Motorists are advised to exercise caution in the area.
